Club Nights

What are Club nights?

We hold our club night on Wednesday nights at Grenada park North. 5:30pm to 6:30 pm.

We have a 3-6 year group where we run the Athletics NZ Get Set Go programme and a session for older kids 7-12 years where we focus on more traditional athletics of Long Jump, Throwing, Starts, Agility and more.

At the end of the night we have a sausage sizzle and some lollies to purchase. Bring your cash.

Cancellations

If it is too wet or cold we will cancel club night. It will be posted on our Facebook page and we will email members.

3-6 years

We run the Get Set Go programme for 3 to 6 year olds.

Get Set Go is an Athletics NZ programme aimed at Under 7s.  Last summer we had over 50 kids taking part each week.  There are a whole variety of games for the kids and their parents to have fun with based around running, jumping and throwing activities.

A range of activities are set up each club night that the children rotate around.  Parents can either move around the activities with their kids, or volunteer to help run a station.  The kids are on the go the whole time - no long lines!  Get Set Go is a fantastic introduction to athletics for this age group.

The Get Set Go programme is held on the bottom field at Grenada North Park so you can park on Caribbean Drive or off Nassau Street.

7 plus years

Children rotate around coaching/activity stations.  Each club night finishes with a running race whether it's 60m, 80m, 100m or once around the track.

Older athletes

Older athletes can attend club night but may enjoy our training sessions better. Some experienced athletes also help out on the night.

Bring cash for the BBQ

We always finish our club nights with a BBQ and some treats - a good way to feed the kids on the way home. We will be brings some BBQ and lollies down to the bottom field for the younger ones.

What does it cost?
